Our Q & A Continues With Peter Arnold, Christian Fiction Suspense Thriller Author, "Armor of Light: A Trilogy Story" (NEW eBook Debuted, July 2, 2024)
Heaven's Doorway Press - Q & A (#21) with author, Peter Arnold:
Question: Peter, in the past, we discussed the monastery of Mont Saint-Michel, tell us more about the 'swath' of other monasteries mysteriously connected to the Saint Michael, the Archangel. Are they on your "pilgrimage bucket list'?
"Yes indeed, there's a group of seven monasteries or sacred sites geographically beginning in Ireland and ending in Jerusalem. It's as if Saint Michael the Archangel cut a path on Earth with his sword inspiring holy patrons to build these enigmatic edifices over the last two millennia.
The first stop is 'Skellig Michael,' located on a remote island off the coast of Ireland. It was built between the sixth and eighth centuries and now designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to the harsh winter conditions, it is accessible only during the summer months.
The second stop is 'Saint Michael's Mount,' off the coast of Cornwall, England. It shares an association with the Benedictine order of Mont Saint-Michel near Normandy, France. Both monasteries geographically are set amid a panoramic tidal basin with accessibility during low tide. Saint Michael's Mount may have began its monastic life in the 8th century through the 12th centuries. During the 11th century, Pope Gregory granted indulgences to pilgrims who visited the sacred site. Today, there is a chapel within the 11th century castle owned by the St. Aubyn family (dating back to its initial ancestral ownership when the mount was sold in 1659).
