Our Q & A Continues With Peter Arnold, Christian Fiction Suspense Thriller Author, "Armor of Light: A Trilogy Story" (NEW eBook Debuted, July 2, 2024)
Heaven's Doorway Press - Q & A (#29) with author, Peter Arnold:
Question: Peter, many fiction writers typically employ the use of "archetype profile character shaping" when they develop their books. Is this a consideration, when developing your story arc in your books and screenplays?
"The famous psychologist, Carl Jung, was instrumental in identifying archetypes which can be visually descriptive with various kinds of human behavior. Writers have embraced archetypes since the early days of Hollywood screenwriting to the current multi-billion dollar digital game industry with the creation of avatars. Carol Pearson, has recently reexamined archetypes in her book, "What Stories Are You Living: Discover Your Archetypes - Transform Your Life."
The first one is THE IDEALIST who begins innocently, yet becomes wiser over time and wants to feel safe. The storyline that helps us feel secure urges faith in something beyond ourselves; a positive attitude and a desire to live in a virtuous moral way.
The fourth one is THE WARRIOR who notices danger and quickly tries to identify who or what is causing it, then protects the vulnerable by eliminating the danger and perseveres to accomplish desired goals.
The sixth one is THE LOVER who is driven by 'eros,' following who and what we love. They then commit to loving them and help form beautiful experiences in mutually supportive communities.
Next time, we will conclude the remaining six "modern archetypes" by Carol Pearson.
