Question: Peter, what are some of your favorite Christian themed movies?
"One film which in my opinion is a jewel, "Full of Grace," a small independent film (2015), with an interesting setting: Ten years after Lord Jesus Christ ascended, Blessed Mother Mary is in declining health and Peter is summoned to see her. He is challenged pastorally with the early growth of the Church and subsequent martyrdom of Apostle James. This small film effectively utilizes poignant backstory flashbacks. The movie still resonates deeply with the unforgettable subtle performances. The film score is beautiful with a haunting cello echoing throughout. Standout performance by Bahia Haifi who plays Blessed Mother Mary. She deserved an Independent Spirit Award nomination for this performance but sadly overlooked."
Question: Peter, do you have a "go-to" Christian movie soundtrack you enjoy?
"One of my favorite soundtracks is from the movie, 'Son of God' featuring the ethereal vocalist, Lisa Gerrard (you may recall her name from the 'Gladiator' score). The film's producers, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, had singularly one composer in mind: Hans Zimmer. The extraordinary team had a unique 'audio vision' and Hans trusted again in his 'muse.' She delivered once more for him, taking us listeners to higher realms. Give it a listen."
Question: Peter, what are your thoughts on the movie, "Risen"?
"I found the story point-of-view from a Roman soldier (played by Joseph Fiennes) at the crucifixion intriguing and emotionally moving. I have watched several clips repeatedly and one in particular,"Ill Explain the Infinite" is a favorite."
