Question: Peter, you seem to have a fascination with near-death experiences (NDE), tell us why?

"Hope, faith and love. We are so fortunate in this digital age, to watch and listen to miraculous witnesses, who have spiritually crossed-over to the other side.   Many describe experiences in which their consciousness literally popped out of the body (OBE). I have found in my research over and over again, similar characteristics of those who died and returned: 'God is Love.'  Just as Saint John, the apostle wrote in his Gospel and epistles.  Two of the most profound contemporary NDE witnesses are Dr. Eben Alexander and Dr. Mary C. Neal (click on their names for their classic youTube talks, now seen by millions).  Lee Witting also had an NDE in his youth and has been instrumental in IANDS, International Association of Near Death Studies, with chapters all over the world."

Dr Eben Alexander recently made an appearance with IANDS and during this short youtube clip, watch here with this link, he says profoundly when asked the question, "Why did God make us?" - "God loves living, the 'God-Mind' loves experiencing life through us, souls participating together, cooperating and co-creating with the 'God-force' growing in the universe, towards an improvement . . .  to bring light, love, comfort, the bliss of experience in existence to all our fellow beings."

In one of my favorite NDE youtube interviews, Dr. Mary C. Neal shares valuable insights from her NDE, which you can watch here in this link.  Some of her shared insights: "Does the NDE or STE provoke thought? Does it provoke change? Does it push us into spiritual transformation and love? Integration of aftereffects takes years!"  She goes on to share, ". . . the living interconnectedness of our body with the living world ( 'oneness'); this can't be random and by chance. She said she had a shift in time and dimension when she was held in the arms of Jesus Christ which seemed like for all eternity, contained in each moment. Dr. Mary C. Neal's "life review" was one of the most revealing ever shared in an NDE. "While each life review event was the most painful, traumatic and hurtful experiences of her life, Christ showed them to her from the other's perspective: from their life story . . . what brought them to that point in time where they hurt me or I hurt them; each person coming from a place of pain. When you have an understanding of someone, it's more than forgiveness. It's grace, eliminating anger, resentment and shame; replaced by compassion, love and kindness. We don't normally have the ability to feel and experience someone else's life story, 20-25 times removed."  During her NDE, she met three spiritual beings, three dimensional in body shape, radiating light from within. "They wore robes as if 'woven from love,' so pure and tangible . . . you could feel it, see it, touch it. After a path in a long vibrant meadow filled with flowers of all colors, many she never experienced on Earth, she arrived with the three spiritual beings at an archway, which intuitively signaled to her the point of no return if she cross over. She felt an understanding of the universe and how it all works, the interconnectedness, of not just people, but with animals, plants, the entirety. "We are all one, beauty comes in all things, from every event. The spiritual world is here and now. Living in a state of joy, a recognition of the truth of the spiritual realm, the truth of God's promises to us. The truth that grace is covering our past. The truth there really is life after death."  - Dr. Mary C. Neal 

Question: In your eBook, "Armor of Light: A Trilogy Story," your lead protagonist, Michael suffers from "aftereffects" of an near death experience (NDE).  What happened to him?

"Michael suffered a terrible tragedy of loss.  It's a mystery which slowly in the back story comes to light.  He was forever changed by his NDE and as a result, received special lasting empathic and intuitive gifts which aid him during his mystical angelic summons. I thought it would be interesting to explore NDE and OBE in a work of fiction." 

Question:  Are there any reports of near-death experiences in ancient antiquity?

"Good question!  It would be interesting to ponder what did Lazarus experience after Jesus brought him back to life!  He was dead for four days! Can you imagine the dinner conversation with Mary, Martha and Lazarus if he spoke about it? I wonder if Saint Paul had any NDEs or OBEs during his apostolic mission?  He was shipwrecked, battered and flogged.  It has also been discussed in the circles of IANDS, the Greek philosopher, Plato may have had an NDE."
